The 1970’s were an exciting time of growth for us. In 1970, the first Grosvenor Casino opened. Today, we’re entertaining people in venues across the UK and on millions of devices around the world. In 1972, we acquired Butlins, another successful British brand that we saw could deliver excitement and entertainment in equal measure.
The 1990’s saw us expand our offer into Mecca Leisure, Hard Rock Café and the first online betting site, Blue Square, came on board in 2003. The 2000’s were a period of change for us as we focused our efforts more into the venues our communities know and love today as well as the digital opportunities of the future.
In 2019 we acquired Stride Gaming to increase our global digital reach and enhance our position within the UK bingo marketplace. In 2022 we moved grosvenorcasinos.com and meccabingo.com onto our proprietary platform.
A new focus saw us expand globally, with offices opening up across the world, with our CEO, John O’Reilly, at the helm, we launched our transformation strategy. This blueprint has laid the foundations for an exciting future for our customers, our communities and our colleagues.
