We are looking for a proactive and driven Payments and Risk Operations Team Manager to lead our Fraud, Payments and KYC-related operations across Spain and Portugal.

This role combines team leadership with ownership of payment performance, fraud prevention, verification processes and operational risk controls. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising tools, improving workflows and strengthening our risk framework within a fast-paced and growing international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Payments and Risk Operations team, ensuring high performance, quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee daily fraud monitoring, payment reviews and operational risk controls.
  • Manage KYC processes, document verification and high-risk customer reviews in close coordination with Compliance.
  • Monitor payment performance, declines, withdrawals and chargebacks in collaboration with our payment provider (Nuvei).
  • Optimise and manage fraud prevention tools, rules and alerts (including SEON).
  • Ensure effective ticket management, prioritisation and productivity through Zendesk.
  • Identify fraud trends, payment risks and operational gaps, proposing improvements and new controls.
  • Produce regular reporting on fraud, payments, risk metrics and team performance.
  • Support operational alignment and risk processes across Spain and Portugal.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Operations and other key stakeholders.
  • Continuously review and improve processes, systems and controls to minimise risk and protect revenue.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Fraud, Payments, Risk Operations or similar roles within an online, fintech or regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of payment flows, chargebacks, fraud prevention and operational risk.
  • Experience with fraud and risk tools (e.g. SEON or similar decisioning tools).
  • Experience managing KYC, verification and document review processes.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and operational workflows (e.g. Zendesk or similar).
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
